Hello and Hmmmm…..

Posted on by admin

Well hello all my beautiful brides {and grooms}!

I know what you’re thinking……I’ve been very…..very inactive on this blog.  And I have an excuse I really do!  I know, I shouldn’t make excuses but I feel this is valid.  You see, I have started {yet another} business and found it challenging to shift gears during my course training and marketing my new business.  My biggest fault is that my creative business mind insists that I have about {at least} four businesses going at once or I get bored!  If you don’t know already, here’s it is:  I’m a makeup artist, esthetician, and now……drum-roll….Xtreme Lash Extension Stylist.  See that ad on the right column of the page?  Paint Me Pretty?  Yup, that’s me!    And for the last few months, I’ve been working on my lash extension business.  But I am continuously getting inquiries from the site, submissions from photographers, and, well, I just can’t put off my persistent pals any longer!!!  Don’t give up on me….I’ll be posting starting tonight!

Thank you for your patience :)

xoxo

I frequently find myself thinking “I just don’t get out on the yacht as much as I would like”.  And by yacht I mean my blow-up float I picked up at the local gas station!  But a girl can always dream, right?  And sometimes those dreams come true.  For Ivette and Jason they did.  Although judging from the looks on their faces, I’m convinced they are glowing from saying “I do” and not from saying “aye aye”.  Although, as I always say “nothing wrong with ending the day on a yacht”.  Happy day, you two, and best wishes!

I absolutely adore this wedding.  I met this family and they were oooozing with Southern hospitality.  As you may know, the day of a wedding can be very stressful for the bride, wedding party and the family.  This wedding was an exception.  When I first arrived at the house, the bride and bridesmaids were out riding bikes.  When they returned, they were all super sweet and very laid back, just enjoying the day.  Not stressing about this, that, or the other.  Just savoring the moments they had together.  I’ll never forget the scene I witnessed before I left the house (right before the ceremony): the bride and her ‘maids gathered in a circle holding hands and praying.  The bride was smiling ear to ear and rocking back and forth with excitement.  I got a little teary eyed watching this and I probably will never forget that moment.

I am breaking this post up into two features.  Amelia (a crazy, cool, fab Nashville photographer I met there) shot so many great photos that I just couldn’t decide what to post.  The following post is pre-wedding up until the I-Do’s.  The next feature will be the cute lil’ details, and girl let me tell you, there are definitely some cute lil’ details you may need to borrow for your wedding.  Just look at this door at the ceremony site!  Above the door reads the Psalm “I lift my eyes to the hills”.  Gorgeous!!!

This was truly a family affair! Sandestin was thrilled to hear that not only was our Group Sales Manager, John Skinner, celebrating in the wedding of his son John, and daughter-to-be, Mandi, but they had chosen our resort to host their very special day!
John and Mandi’s wedding day was perfect – not a cloud in the sky, and a nice breeze  off of the bay was the perfect touch to this July wedding. We were so delighted they chose to celebrate their special day with not only their  immediate family but also with their Sandestin family!
Congratulations Mandi and John and all the best on your new journey!

Cute lil’ Details

I love this for all it’s little cutesy design elements:  cupcake stand in lieu of a cake, the candy table for the kids (and big kids!), and itty bitty margarita glasses, pre-rimmed with salt.  When you see cute ideas, you just gotta post ‘em!
